First annual Harbor business meeting
If you’re not part of Harbor, or you’re part of Harbor but the phrase “business meeting” makes something inside of you die, then this blog post is probably just not for you.
But if you’re part of Harbor and that phrase somehow makes you happy, then you’re in the right place. We will be having our first annual business meeting on Sunday, March 23, at 5pm eastern (2pm pacific). We will use our normal Zoom link that we use for Wednesday brunch and Thursday gatherings.
There will be two business items on the agenda, and whoever shows up for the meeting will be able to vote on these items. One is the approval of our budget, and the other is the inclusion of new folks to our leadership council. The legwork for both of these items has been done, i.e. our treasurer Larry and co-pastor Dawn have studied the numbers and produced a comprehensive budget, and we already received applications and conducted interviews for new council members.
Which is all to say that the function of this meeting is not to start from scratch and do a bunch of work to, say, draft a new budget. It’s to stay informed about how Harbor is functioning and to participate by voting on what should be some celebratory items (Yay, we have a budget and new council members!).
So if you are a Harborista and a business meeting enthusiast, mark your calendar for March 23!
